Love Mercy Challenge

The Love Mercy Challenge

Does your youth group want to save lives around the world and become eligible to win a grant to support your ministry at home?

The Love Mercy Challenge encourages church youth groups to raise money for clean water in Africa throughout 2010. Youth groups can win one of three challenge grants available for use in their local youth ministry. A $5,000 grand prize grant will be awarded to any group (regardless of size) that raises the most money for wells. Two runner-up grants will also be awarded: $3,000 for a large group and $3,000 for a small group.

It’s simple, and any group can win.
Provide clean water to the most people in Africa . . .
and win one of three prize-grants for your youth group! Interested? Contact WORLD HOPE  Scott Drury or Christy Macbeth.

  • Timing: The Love Mercy Challenge will begin January 1, 2010 and run through December 31, 2010.  Funds may be turned in throughout the year and will be immediately applied for well drilling.  Participating youth groups will have through January 15, 2011 to turn in funds to be counted toward their grant eligibility.
  • Purpose: The purpose of the Love Mercy Challenge is to encourage youth groups of all sizes to make a difference in their world by providing clean water to those in desperate need.  A few individual donors have made these prize-grants possible. These donors wish to invest in local youth ministry and to encourage teens to take the challenge to love mercy and do justice.
  • Details: The first step in the Love Mercy Challenge is to sign up. A more detailed description of the guidelines for the grants will be sent to youth leaders of participating groups.  Youth groups will be assigned a size category later based on the actual groups wishing to participate, with the goal of providing a fair opportunity for large and small groups to compete for a grant.

Love Mercy Offering

The sacrificial love offering at Love Mercy '09  raised $45,000.00 in one day. These resources will help dig fresh water wells in Mozambique through the ministry of World Hope International. We had hoped to raise enough to dig 4 wells.  God blessed and now we will be able to dig wells in 10 villages that currently have no clean water.
